Walk for Leukaemia Foundation
All Signs Managing Director, Peter Wagener, will walk to Mandurah to help raise funds to find a cure for Leukaemia.
Our Managing Director, Peter Wagener, will walk from Perth to Mandurah on Saturday 5th June 2021, to help raise funds for Leukaemia Foundation.
Starting from Elizabeth Quay at around 3am, Peter is expected to finish his walk, arriving at the Mandurah foreshore around 3pm – 4pm. The journey will take approx. 12+ hours.
Peter is aiming to raise $100,000 to support the Leukaemia Foundation’s research into finding a cure for the condition.
This walk is Peter’s way of raising awareness of the disease, as well as a reminder to everyone to attend an annual general health check.
“It’s a long walk, but it’s important to get the message out there” Peter said. “Most people wouldn’t even know they had leukaemia until it’s too late. Early intervention is the key”.
Peter was diagnosed with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia in February 2020 after his annual general health check found an elevated white blood cell count.
Peter explained how the diagnosis was a huge shock, especially as he had no symptoms.
